Shelling - Get Some Exercise and Find Some Exotic Shells

The beach is a great place to visit. Some people like to swim and play at the beach while others might just lay back in a beach chair and let the day lazily pass them by while they loose themselves in a book.

Some people are busy combing the beach looking for beautiful sea shells. This is a fascinating hobby that anyone could enjoy. I mean think about it. You just walk down the beach and keep your eyes to the ground. What could be easier? The beach does most of the work by washing ashore all of the shells or removing sand and exposing those hard to find beauties. Plus you never know what the ocean might bring your way.

Hunting for sea shells is also a great way to get some exercise. The sound of the waves and the ocean breeze can easily make time stop and before you know it, you have walked a few miles and spent an hour or two on your feet. You had no idea that you had been walking that long. You also might have a bag full of beautiful shells. Just keep track of the tide, you would not want the tide to keep you from getting back.

Now that you have collected so many beautiful specimens, you might want to try and find out just what they are. There are many books on the subject. These books allow you to look up shells with a visual Identification chart. Once you find out what kind of shell it is, the book will also tell you how common it is and where you might expect to find it.

Jason loves birdwatching and now enjoys it with his son. In his spare time he also loves creating websites. Check out his newest website on Tide Clocks. A tide clock will always tell you what the current tide is.
