Strike Gold with Effective Prospecting

Whether you're looking for new agents or new clients, the key to finding them is effective prospecting. There are numerous ways to go about prospecting. Some of them are active methods, while others are passive. Active prospecting methods are things like Personal Observation, Public Speaking, Agent and Client Referrals, Networking, and Centers of Influence, while passive methods include using the internet, newspaper advertising and direct mail campaigns.

Both passive and active prospecting will produce results, however they differ in efficiency and effectiveness - and understanding those differences will make all the difference to you and your results.

Passive methods are easy to implement, but are actually pretty inefficient. They attract 1) "tire kickers", 2) people looking for a job, 3) price shoppers, and 4) people simply looking for a way to make money. Please understand, these methods do produce results and can uncover fantastic people who become great agents or clients, but generally the quality of results is poor. When these methods are implemented, plenty of activity is generated, but few prospects become agents or clients. The passive methods appear to be very efficient, but they produce so much worthless activity that they become extremely inefficient.

Active methods, on the other hand, take more time on the front end, but because they are so much more effective end up being much more efficient. They are so much more effective because interviews/meetings are only generated with people who have an interest in working with you, and share your purpose and passion.

Agents often coming on board because they identify with you and what you stand for, they see it as a good opportunity to build a future, and they see the opportunity as one that offers unlimited financial growth. Clients decide to work with you because they see who you are, and identify and respect you and what you believe in. Not only are active methods more effective, but agents who are recruited through active methods historically are better producers and clients created this way are more loyal.

Why Active Prospecting Is More Effective

For Recruiting:

- A key to a successful recruiting program is to effectively identify candidates with an "owner" mindset. Candidates with an owner mindset are better at taking initiative while candidates with an employee mindset are better at taking instruction. Candidates with an owner mindset are self-starters who recognize the correlation between their success and the amount of effort they put forth -- in fact, they thrive on this. They take initiative, they think independently and they tend to succeed when they're given the freedom to do things their own way. These are the kind of candidates that make up the foundation of any winning sales force. Active recruiting allows you to better identify candidates right from the start who are inclined to be owners rather than employees.
- People who respond to recruitment advertising are generally looking for something better than what they have. Either they're unhappy with their current situation or they have no job at all. Now... think about whether you'd rather have a prospective agent who is happy and productive where they are or someone who is unhappy and maybe even unproductive where they are? Most territory builders would always prefer a candidate who is already productive and happy. They want someone who has a positive attitude and good work habits. By seeking out candidates who are closer to your ideal with respect to productivity, attitude and drive, you end up with agents who are productive, positive and successful
- Ever get frustrated with the production of your agents and wonder how to motivate them? This is a prevalent challenge within the industry. The cause for this issue comes from how the agents were recruited. Not only are many agents recruited through advertising, but, often what the manager is passionate about isn't communicated. Without a worthwhile purpose, it's pretty difficult to attract and keep the right kind of people - people who are happy, energetic and highly productive. In case you doubt the validity of this observation about the power of personal attraction, look over your agents and see who the highest producers are and/or the ones who are most responsive. Typically they're the agents you personally recruited rather than the agents you "inherited". When you actively recruit, you create the opportunity to let a candidate see what you're about - what matters to you. You end up attracting like-minded people.

For Prospecting:

- People do business with people they like. The only way for others to get to know you is by getting out and meeting people. When you do your prospecting passively, they don't get to know you at all. They are simply responding to something they read.

- People are attracted to someone who stands for something and has a purpose. When you spend time clarifying what sets you apart from everyone else and spend time clarifying your purpose, and then communicate them effectively, you will attract like-minded clients who identify with you and become loyal to you.

- The best way to keep clients is to build a relationship with them. Without a relationship, they simply become price-shopping customers. With a relationship, they become clients who will stay with you and become clients who refer others to you. It perpetuates success.

Active prospecting allows you to attract the kind of people you want, allows you to meet with only those people who are likely to succeed and stay with you, and allows you to build a team of loyal, professional, hard-working, responsive and successful agents or a solid book of loyal clients.

Break out of the internet and advertising routine. Start powering up your prospecting and boosting your success!

Gold Prospecting - Seven Items You Will Need For a Successful Hunt

Gold prospecting has to be one of the most interesting outdoor activities a person who enjoys a bit of hard work could ever take part in.

Those who know these things tell us that there is a great deal more gold in the ground than ever has been discovered. You just need to go out there and track it down.

Gold has been around for thousands of years. When you look around at people today wearing the gold watch, gold rings, and the gold coins stored away in collections you begin to realize just how much a part of our lives it has become. It is almost indestructible. The fact is that in all probability, the gold jewelry you are wearing has been manufactured from old jewelry or coins or recycled from any one of a thousand items that contains gold.

Back in the 1890 era gold was discovered in the Yukon territory in Canada. Millions of dollars worth of the yellow metal came out before the rush dies down, however, placer gold is still being mined there probably more than ever.

Placer gold is what is found by the prospector with the pan. Placer gold is gold that is found in the gravel of rivers and streams and is loose in the ground.
Auriferous deposits are where the gold is found in veins in the rock and must be mined out.
For now we will assume that you may be interested in prospecting for placer gold. There are certain items you will need to do and have.
  • Prospector License. Anyone can get one for about $5.00 or so depending where you live. The Department of Mines generally is where you apply. Fill out the simple form and they will give you a license, booklet on where to prospect and where not to do so, and claim tags.
  • Claims maps. If you go to the claims office you will be able to view any of the maps that they have on hand for their state or province. Almost every square inch of your district has been mapped. The maps show every mining claim that exists. Not every map is a topographical one so you may want to buy maps for the area you intend to prospect.
  • GPS unit. These small units are incredible and easy to use. This is a very handy tool to take along, especially if you are in a heavily wooded area. Other than that you need a good compass.
  • Small tools. Hammer, brush, shovel, surveyors tape, a few nails, axe.
  • Gold pan. There are many different types so suffice to say that you need one to work with.
  • Notebook with pens or pencils. You want to keep good notes while you move about the area.
  • Pry bar. Again there are many different types available. You will use this to move stones and pry pieces out of the way.
Read your prospectors book of rules and become familiar with the ins and outs of prospecting before you go out to give it a try. You must be ready to be honest in your prospecting. Follow the rules rigidly as claims owners protect their claims to the final degree.
Good luck to you.

MLM Sponsoring Tip: The Purpose of Prospecting Is to Disqualify

This MLM success tip article analyzes the old way and new way of prospecting and the difference between prospecting and selling.

The old way of Prospecting
The old way of prospecting teaches to believe that all buyers are liars and not to believe the prospect until he says no 7 or more time. This old method teaches that there is a war between buyer and seller and that the job of the salesperson is to win. That when the prospect say no, that means he or she requires more information and you must handle the objection. If the salesperson does not make the sale it his or her fault. This old way believes the problem is scarcity of prospects.
This way of selling is hard on the salesperson that is why most people hate prospecting and the sales person suffers endless rejection

The New Way teaches the purpose of Prospecting is to Disqualify.
The new way of prospecting assumes there are enough prospects who are interested and qualified. The new way teaches that if buyers says they are not interested, you do not try to handle the objection but instead you believe them and move on.This new method sees prospecting the way the old gold prospector did. After the old gold prospector shovel the sand in his gold pan his main purpose is to disregard that which is not gold like the dirt, grit and mud.The more non gold he disregards the more gold he finds.

That is what the new way of Prospecting teaches, the more non buyers you disregard the more buyers you find. Instead of attempting to keep everyone you communicate with, you try to get rid of them. This MLM sponsoring tip is suggesting that you have an abundant mentality instead of scarcity mentality which what the old method teaches.

The first time I heard that prospecting to disqualify non buyer, I just couldn't understand that and it didn't make any sense, but after pondering about it for a while, I realized that indeed it is a very good advice. Prospecting is defined as the act of searching for something of value.

Prospecting is the starting point of the sales cycle.
There is a difference between prospecting and selling. When prospecting you are sorting and are trying to find those who are qualified for your MLM business opportunity and your goal is to disqualify those who are not ready, which will be the majority. Selling begins after prospecting, when you find people who are qualified. In the selling phase you explain to them what you are offering and help them make an informed decision. Most distributors do not know the difference between prospecting and selling and try to do the selling in the prospecting phase, which causes a lot of rejection.

I hope this MLM success tip helps you enjoy prospecting and succeed in your MLM business.
Before you engage in your prospecting activity you will need qualified people to contact, people who are interested in what you have to offer which will make reaching your goals effortless and enjoyable. Fine Gold Prospecting in the Glacial Till

If you live on the North Eastern coast of the US in an area that does not have natural gold deposits, probably the best chance you have to pan gold is in areas where the glaciers dumped their trash. Well, back to "some trash is other people's treasure," and that's what we have with what the glaciers dumped on us. It can give you a chance to try out the gold prospecting hobby near your home before venturing off to a gold bearing region.

In southwestern PA and Eastern Ohio we have an opportunity to go looking for these glacial deposits that are known to contain Fine Gold, Raw Diamonds and small Platinum. All of these are very fun and profitable to find.

How did it get here? Well it really did not have a choice. It was pushed with an unimaginable force from Canada and then dumped in our backyard. In this area we were impacted by at least 3 main glacial periods. The Wisconsian, Illinoian and the Kansan periods came through and left us some fine gold to play with. Most of these 3 periods had numerous advances and retreats, so the maps will give a better idea of where to look.

The best place I have found to get good information and maps is from the US government. They have a great map and information booklets available on there pa web site. It can be found at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/pub/onlinepubs.aspx
Make sure to look around while your there and download and print the books and maps that interest you. The Pennsylvania Glacial Deposit map can be found at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/maps/map59.pdf

The only difference in finding the gold compared to areas that have natural gold deposits is you will probably be dealing with smaller creeks and streams so dredging becomes a "do the best you can under the circumstances." In looking for the gold in the Glacial areas I have not found much in the grey clay, most is found in the area about an inch from the top of the clay. In looking for a good spot while test panning, the black sand is still the best indicator.

The benefit to those Glaciers dumping their till on us is for those of us that call this home, we get to pan for gold with out having to run off to California or Alaska. If you start your gold prospecting adventures with fine gold, you will become one of the best at recovering any type of gold. When you can pan the concentrate down and recover the fine gold and Black magnetic sand, just imagine how easy it will be for you when you get to a spot that has nuggets that you can pick up with your fingers!

Network Marketing Prospecting - The World Is Your Gold Mine

Network marketing prospecting is probably one of the first things that you will learn in network marketing and probably the last thing that you will ever master. It is in fact the most important aspect of network marketing. Who would you get as your downline if you don't expand your contacts or client base. Network marketing is pretty much a sales and marketing game. Knowing your target audience and having some skills "selling" your product are very important elements to get high scores, the score here being the number of prospects you have.

When you begin with network marketing, more often than not you go to your family members, relatives and close friends to pitch what you are selling. Chances are, a couple of your friends and family will select to be your downline. Others will remain skeptical and continue to ask questions about the details of the project or how exactly network marketing works. At this point, it pays to know what to say. You need to prepare properly every time you pitch your product so your prospects don't get turned off from unanswered queries or run of the mill responses.

Know your prospects better. Ask them to fill out some forms where you can get background information about their lives. Casual conversations with your prospects work best. But be attentive. Based on the information you can see where you can help them reorganize their time. Show them some options where they can integrate network marketing in their lives and how it will make a difference in how they spend their time with their loved ones. This is one way to gather prospects: specific or targeted marketing or sales.

One other technique to gather more network prospects is to buy leads. There are companies that sell these kinds of information to network marketers. They do advertising campaigns and sift through the target market and come out with a "clean" list of prospects that companies like yourselves can use to expand your market. Don't get me wrong, you can do the advertising campaign yourself. By placing small ads here and there, you can create enough curiosity that people will start calling you and inquiring about your business or your network marketing line.

And, of course, one of the most important prospecting tools is the internet. You should learn to utilize it better to get the most benefits out of it. Marketing online can generate a large number of leads. Unlike, traditional ad postings on print publications, spreading the word out on the web takes pretty much just a single click of the send button in your email provider. However, because it is easy almost everyone is doing it. So you need to think things carefully and study marketing online to get useful results.

Here are a couple of ways to get some prospecting done effectively. When you do network marketing prospecting, be sure that you pay attention to your prospects and not yourself. Begin a conversation with your prospects and listen to what they have to say. Be sure to ask questions that encourage your prospects to elaborate theirs answers. And don't forget to regularly get in touch with your prospects.

Can You Still Make Money Panning for Gold?

Gold's current high value and the ailing global job market has led to a surge in regular folks exploring the sometimes lucrative career of gold mining. It is believed that billion of dollars worth of gold are still hidden in the United States! Who wouldn't love a piece of that?

In fact, large amounts of gold have recently been found at the gold mines in North Carolina, Colorado and California. If you're interested in giving it a try, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. First, one needs to select a suitable area that is both potential for gold's existence and is legal for gold panning. National parks are off limits as they are usually restricted for public digging. However, there are many other public lands where minerals can be sought. Researching the records of mining and public land will give clues about where to fix the sweet spot for digging gold.

Stay away from hobby gold-mining sites that you see advertised in brochures and road side billboards. These locations are usually setup for tourists and thus offer little hope for serious gold miners.

After selecting the spot, one can stake a mineral claim to prevent others from intruding into the spot. For gold panning, you don't need to buy a lot of tools. Just a gold pan, a shovel, buckets, gloves, and camping supplies would be enough at the starting. A pair of tweezers and a magnifying glass will help to detect the tiniest pieces of gold. One can buy a metal detector and dredges too.
A fair forewarning - gold mining is a very hard work! One has to be willing to put in long hours and be patient enough to taste the fruit of success in gold panning. The best way would be to take it as a means of passing weekends and leisure periods than a fulltime job.

It can also be a good way to spend time with family and friends while having fun. It is a very tough job for the newcomers because knowledge and experience are the two important keys to get success in gold panning. It is also true that very few people can make their livelihood from gold mining.
While it is true that finding large amount of gold is quite difficult, the possibility of finding a little "color" in a gold pan is hard to resist.

Gold Prospecting Equipment - Should You Build Or Buy?

Last summer, for the very first time, a friend and I developed a passion for gold prospecting. But it wasn't just the finding of the gold that we loved, it was more the understanding of the methods used in finding it, of the engineering of how pans and sluice boxes work. We chose to build our own equipment (for the most part), veering away from the spendy stuff found online. Don't get me wrong. I'm sure that stuff works great. But we wanted the excitement of doing it all ourselves. So how did we build our own gold prospecting equipment? It was simple.

The two most common pieces of equipment in gold prospecting are the gold pan, and the sluice box. Your average gold pan is very cheap, usually about $10. Black plastic is what I prefer. The gold shows up perfectly against the black. Sluice boxes, on the other hand, can get a bit pricey. Building a sluice is actually a lot simpler than it sounds.

Using pieces of plastic cut into simple geometric shapes (squares and rectangles) we build a very lightweight sluice box from plastic simply by gluing the pieces together with plastic cement and waiting 24 hours. For plans on building your own sluice box, one simply has to type in "sluice box plans" into google and they'll find dozens of step by step instructions on how to build their very own gold catching contraption. A sluice box has a very simple design. It's just a box, after all. Who can't build a box? A lot of outfitters will try and sell you on lightweight, expensive aluminum, wanting top dollar for a simple sluice box. I say why pay the money when you can easily build a sluice with common materials.

But back to the sluice box for a moment. Lightweight plastic is easy to work with. As long as one doesn't buy sheets more than a quarter inch thick, it can be reasonably cut with an exacto blade. Add to that the cost of a bottle of plastic cement and you'll have your very own sluice box in a matter of a few hours and whatever other pieces of gold prospecting equipment you'll need.

The only thing left to do is find a river that has a reasonable amount of gold still hiding away. In California, that's pretty easy to do. Gold infested rivers are scattered all throughout southern and northern California. Different places have different levels of gold, but I'm assuming that those reading this already have a spot picked out.
